Too Beautiful to be Described in Words
My child it seems impossible, I know
Our planet could have been as I have said
Night after night, as you snuggle down low
Between the blankets on your little bed
One hundred years ago when I was young —
The image be fantastical to you —
The sky grayly today above us hung
Was of a shade called cerulean blue
And clouds of creatures flew about that sky
Too beautiful to be described in words
Which not some part their wonder of deny:
Swift turning all together — singing birds
Each morning with fresh air our lungs were full
Indeed, indeed, this world was beautiful
