what to say when lovingly dismissing a demon of any size

hello

i’m sorry i looked
like prey to you
then turned out
to be too tough
to digest…

i know you haven’t
been happy

nobody would be

rotten assignment
less and less food
fires getting dim
sulphur running out

chilly

but better
than what you’ve got
to look forward to,
eh?

back to the boss
with failure to report?

ooh.

i’d be hangin’
’round here past my time too
if i was you, i guess.

want my advice?
li’l bit curious?

after all, i din’
turn out to be such a
pollyanna?

might have somethin’
to say worth the hearing?

kinda
out of options
anyway?

well

if it was me
jus’ sayin’
i’d go
into that Light

that’s been hovering
right there
all this time
an’ you’ve been taught
is all the scariest
things in the known universe

and
most of all
way uncool
and all
your friends
might laugh at you

might want to look again

it only seems scary from here
because it’s bright
and you’re used to life in the shadows

your eyes will adjust
it’s warm again there
food’s not an issue

they’ll be genuinely
happy to see you coming (when
was the last time that happened
to you?)

trust me
if you’ve ever trusted anybody:

it’s not near as scary
as that dissatisfied boss.

right?

want some food for the journey?
here

you can have all these
fears and frustrations
you helped create

I give them all back to you
freely

but you must first promise
never
to return
