“people don’t change“

…so it’s a good thing
that on the path to
whatever you call
whatever’s at the
end of this path, we
don’t have to

change

at all

though we do have to:

grow

impossible not to, in fact ~
grow, that is

really wouldn’t advise trying it
not pretty

so we do
grow

surely
inevitably
irresistably
do
mature
don’t we?

it’s been some time now since we
tried to stuff the
curtain cords in our mouths

some time
since we just dropped,
deciding that crawling
for the moment
was the easier option…

soon
we’ll also stop bashing the other
kids in the sandbox
with our little shovels and
screaming

and

start learning
how to talk
to one another
instead
